    ABERDEEN CAR GROUP, John Clark Motor Group — Scotland's fourth-largest dealership group — has invested £1.4m in a new Skoda and Seat showroom in the city.

    The new dealership, on Aberdeen's Craigshaw Road, is one of the largest combined Skoda and Seat operations in the UK. Mark Hodgson has been appointed as dealer principal, joining from a BMW dealership.

    Trading as Specialist Cars Skoda and Seat, the new facility incorporates an 11-car showroom for Skoda and a separate six-car showroom for Seat. There's also 10-bay workshop services both marques, incorporating an MoT test bay and four wheel alignment ramp.

    The site, whose opening was overseen by Chris Clark, JCMG business development director, also has space for up to 50 used vehicles, plus significant further parking for customers cars. 

    “This investment underlines our commitment to Aberdeen and follows on from what has been a very successful year for the group," John Clark, chairman and managing director of the JCMG, said.

    "We have seen significant growth across our network of 20 businesses in the east of Scotland, from Aberdeen, south through Dundee and Fife, to Edinburgh.”

    JCMG — which operates a number of franchises, including BMW, Land Rover, Mini, Audi, Nissan and VW, in addition to Seat and Skoda —has an annual turnover of £355 million and employs 780 staff.
