Hyundai reveals new i30 Tourer 18 | 06 | 2012
HYUNDAI HAS REVEALED its all-new i30 Tourer, the the Korean company has yet to confirm when it will arrive in the UK.
And that's interesting, because Hyundai has bulked-up the i30 Tourer to ensure it has more load-lugging space than the Ford Focus estate and Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer.
The new i30 Tourer is capable of carrying 150 litre s more luggage than the hatchback equivalent with the rear seats in place. Fold them flat, and the space increases from 1316 litres in the hatch, to 1642 in the Tourer.
The Ford Focus estate, by comparison, manages 1502 litres, while the Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer can take a little more, with 1550 litres: bot well behind the i30 Tourer.
It's expected the new estate will include the same engine variety as found in the i30 hatchback: including the entry-level 98bhp 1.4-litre petrol, the 89bhp 1.4CRDi and the 1.6CRDi. The latter is available in either in 109 or 126bhp formats.
Production of the new car has already stated at Hyundai's Czech Republic factory, where the ix35 and ix20 are also built
Prices for the new i30 Tourer — though Hyundai has yet to confirm them — are expected to start at around £15,300.
