Scots company 'leathers' Beckham 27 | 07 | 2012

BRIDGE OF WEIR LEATHER has been specified for the interior of the new Range Rover Evoque Special Edition in collaboration with Victoria Beckham (see more official photos of the Bridge of Weir Range Rover Evoque interior).

The three-door, coupe-styled and hand-finished limited edition of just 200, set for first UK deliveries in October and expected to cost around £80,000, comes in a matt-finish Stornoway Grey with contrasting Santorini gloss black roof and wheels – complete with rose gold accents around the 20in rims.

Inside, the sports seats are finished in semi-aniline Vintage Tan leather from the family-owned Bridge of Weir – also used to cover the door inserts, armrests and central storage box lid (see more oficial images of the interior of the Range Rover Evoque VB).

The bold, hand-finished ‘baseball’ stitch detail on the leather seats was a feature chosen by Victoria Beckham as a tongue-in-cheek reference to her sporting husband, David. Quite how that works, I'm not sure: guess it's a vague reference to Mr Beckham playing foot for LA Galaxy?

    Roadtest: Range Rover Evoque

"The paintwork is a fashionably stealthy matt grey, the wheels are glossy black alloys," the sulky-looking VB said. "There are unusual rose-gold accents secreted about the bodywork and cabin, and the leather is a smooth, semi-aniline type by Bridge of Weir.  Frankly, it’s gorgeous.”

Bridge of Weir chairman, Jonathan Muirhead, added: “We are extremely proud to have been selected to work with the Range Rover team for this Special Edition with Victoria Beckham.

"I like to think we were chosen for the very high quality and luxury feel of our leather, a long history supplying the automotive industry and also our low carbon attributes and unique zero waste leather manufacturing techniques.”

The Range Rover Evoque Special Edition with Victoria Beckham is on sale now with first UK deliveries later this year.
