Merc reveals C-class updates 30 | 07 | 2012
MERCEDES-BENZ has unveiled ‘significant upgrades’ to its 2013 C-class range. The German manufacturer believes the latest design tweaks will appeal to both the corporate and retail markets.
Amongst the highlights of the latest evolution of the company's best-selling C-class are:
An all-new trim structure for the Saloon and Estate models of Executive SE, AMG Sport and AMG Sport Plus; Coupé available as an AMG Sport or AMG Sport Plus; and a new engine for the C180 BlueEfficiency.
The new engine in the the C180 BlueEfficiency is, according to Mercedes, a 154bhp, ‘ultra-efficient 1.6-litre petrol direct-injection turbocharged power plant.
Mercedes new CLS estate
According to Merc, it returns 47.9mpg and emits 138g/km of CO2 in saloon form; in estate form the figures are 47.9mpg and 139g/km, and in the coupé 44.1mpg and 149g/km.
Mercedes predicts it will reduce company car benefit in kind (BIK) by up to 4% and CAP immediately announced a 5% (£450) increase in residual values for the entry-level trim grade.
In terms of spec, the Executive SE features a sports grille, 16 alloy wheels, Artico upholstery and LED daytime running lights, while the new AMG Sport Saloon and Estate models boast 17-inch AMG wheels and halogen headlights.
Prices start from £25,915 for the saloon, £27,115 for the estate and £30,090 for the coupé. Service Care packages to spread the cost of routine maintenance will be available from £27 per month.
