First details of new Lexus LS 31 | 07 | 2012
AHEAD OF ITS LAUNCH later this year, Lexus has released details of its new LS range. In addition to an F Sport version joining the range for the first time, the model gets revised exterior and interior styling.
The latest LS gets a new front end face and all lights on the newcomer come available with LED technology.
In addition, Lexus says it has improved the LS’s adaptive variable suspension with a new four-wheel interlock control, which suppresses roll, pitch and heave vibration at all four wheels simultaneously.
The revised LS’s satellite navigation system — which is displayed on an extra-large, 12.3-inch screen — features internet connectivity, and all UK-spec LS models come equipped with a 19-speaker sound system plus upgrades to the rear seat entertainment package, which includes a Blu-Ray disc player.
Standard safety equipment comprises Lexus’s Advanced Pre-Crash Safety system with Collision Avoidance Assist and an upgraded Lane Keep Assist system.

And for the first time in a Lexus, the LS gets Drive Mode Select, offering five switchable driving modes: Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport S and Sport S+.
And by introducing the new F Sport grade, which combines a sportier body kit, Lexus believes it will help the company compete with models from BMW’s M-Sport and Audi’s S-Line.
F Sport models will be lowered by 10mm, include Brembo six-piston calliper front brakes and paddle shift controls.
And the F Sport’s paddle-shift gearbox incorporates automatic throttle blipping when changing to a lower gear.
Customers will also get an intake sound generator on the engine that amplifies the vibration of the intake pulse and pumps the engine sound into the cabin.
Both the new Lexus LS 460 and LS 600h will go on sale in the UK later this year. Further details of performance, spec and pricing will be confirmed nearer the launch date.
