"These new initiatives mark the end of a momentous year for our business," Peter Vardy, chief executive, said.

"We were only founded six years ago, but the company has gone from strength to strength through the efforts of a team of exceptional people throughout the group.

"The Land Rover business is one of the largest in the UK, and Porsche is a world renowned brand.

"We have enjoyed a very friendly relationship with Athol and Jackie from Town and County — 25 years ago my father bought Rover and Jaguar businesses from Town & County, so there is an element of history repeating itself.

"Athol and Jackie have already done a fantastic job of building these businesses into what they are today, so it is a real coup to take over such highly performing sites.”

The Jaguar site features family history with the Vardys as its was previously operated as a Reg Vardy dealership on the site for more than 20 years until it was acquired in 2006 by Pendragon.

"Partnering with a marque as renowned as Jaguar is a significant moment for our company," Peter Vardy said.

“Before I founded the group, I managed a Jaguar franchise in Edinburgh and I know from first-hand experience how much passion and commitment the company puts into creating and building beautiful vehicles which are recognised globally as a symbol of quality."

Though no figures have been released, Vardy confirmed it is planning to invest in new premises for all of the new businesses.
