BMW reveals 2013 Z4 18 | 12 | 2012

BMW HAS RELEASED first official images of the facelifted Z4 which will appear in Scottish showrooms next April (see more official photos of the 2013 BMW Z4 Roadster).

The headline-grabbing addition to the range is a new entry-level sDrive18i, which will be powered by a 154bhp turbocharged 2.0-litre engine.

Mated to its standard six-speed manual gearbox — an eight-speed automatic will be available as an option — it'll cover the 0-62mph sprint in 7.9sec and continue to 137mph. It'll also deliver 41.5mpg at the pumps, with CO2 emissions of 159g/km.

    The other engines — sDrive20i, sDrive28i, sDrive35i and sDrive35is — in the Z4 models continue unchanged.

Externally, the most noticeable change to the facelifted roadster is the introduction of revised LED headlights. There's also the choice from a new range of alloy wheel options.

The new Z4 also gets the option of a new Design Pure Traction styling pack, which adds contrasting black and orange trim to the cabin.

And while there are a few little tweaks to the exterior trim detailing, inside the cabin there's new gloss black trim for the air vent and iDrive surrounds as standard.

The sDrive28i models and above now get leather trim as standard, while a Fineline Anthracite wood finish is available as an option.

Not surprisingly, the M Sport package — which includes bespoke suspension settings, alloy wheels and exterior and interior trim — will continue to be offered. And there's an even more focused version of the pack available on the range-topping sDrive35is.
