Highlander joins top GP3 teamposted in MSPOR21 | 02 | 2011

ONE OF SCOTLAND'S most talented young racing stars, Golspie's Lewis Williamson, has landed a top drive in this year's GP3 Championship. The 21-year-old Highlander has joined the MW Arden team owned by Red Bull boss Christian Horner, and Aussie F1 racer Mark Webber.

Williamson, who was named McLaren Autosport Young Driver of the Year in December after impressing the judges during two days of testing at Silverstone, will travel to the team's base at Banbury this week for a seat fitting.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Highland Arena for making it all possible," Williamson, who narrowly missed out on winning last year's British Formula Renault Championship, said today. "Here's to a successful 2011."
