Celtic Speed shine at Thruxtonposted in POR30 | 04 | 2011

SCOTLAND'S LEADING motorsport team, St Cyrus-based Celtic Speed, enjoyed another successful qualifying in the Porsche Carrera Cup ahead of tomorrow's double-header at Thruxton.

Dunfermline's Rory Butcher qualified second in the Porsche Carrera Cup Pro-Am1 championship, while Edinburgh's George Brewster notched another Pro-Am2 pole position of the season for Celtic Speed.

"Yeh, I've got to be happy with that," admitted Butcher, who starts the opening race from seventh overall and whose best time of 1min 14.461secs was just 0.058s behind defending champ Tim Harvey in sixth.

"The car was super today and the guys in the team prepared it exceptionally well. Now I have to concentrate on making sure I get a good start tomorrow, stay out of trouble and push for a top six finish." Brewster meanwhile was equally happy with his performance.

"Pole position in my class is always my first priority and to do it again shows we have the consistency both in terms of the car, and it my driving, so I'm well pleased with that."
