Facelifted Citroen C3 gets new look 12 | 02 | 2020

CITROEN HAS UNVEILED its facelifted C3. On sale in the UK from April, first deliveries are scheduled to start in June. Prices are expected to increase only slightly over the current range, which starts at £16,200. (Related: Roadtest — Citroen C3 Aircross)

The 2020 model — which dos head-to-head with the likes of the Ford Fiesta and Renault Clio — gains not only a host of new options and a higher level of on-board technology, but there’s also a new look. The exterior changes are fairly minor, with the front detailing above the grille has been changed to mimic the X-shaped front profile of the Cxperience concept car from 2016. Look closely and you’ll also see the newly fit chrome LED detailing leads to new LED headlights. (Related: Scots giant expands with Citroen)

Elsewhere, the three-quarter panels have been tweaked, there’s freshly redesigned Airbump rubbing strips along the sides, new wheel arch extensions, and different bumpers at the front.

There’s also a choice of two new paint finishes, four roof colours, four new exterior colour packs, plus there’s a new design of 17in alloys available. Consistent with Citroen’s “Inspired by You” brand message, the 2020 C3 extends its customisation potential, increasing from 36 to 97 combinations.

There are though no new engines. The 2020 range is powered by the same Euro 6-compliant engine line-up as its predecessor.

Inside the cabin there’s a new ‘Techwood’ interior scheme with faux-wood strips on the dashboard, plus the new C3 gets the Advanced Comfort seats lifted from the C4 Cactus. Buyers can also opt for front parking sensors.
