Set to rival the likes of the Seat Arona and Citroen C3 Aircross, the new Skoda will enter Scottish showrooms in the second-half of 2019.

Heavily influenced by the design lines of the sister Skoda Karoq and Kodiaq, the Vision X sits on 20in alloys, boasts a full-length panoramic glass roof and is fitted with slim LED headlamps which have been integrated into the bold front grille.

Skoda says the interior “defines a fundamentally new design language”. While a wide, ergonomically-contoured dashboard with freestanding colour display dominates the interior, the infotainment and connectivity services can be accessed quickly and intuitively via the screen.

There’s even illuminated elements made of cut crystal glass which, in conjunction with the colour display, create atmospheric lighting effects.

It’s expected the production version will feature turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engines at the entry-level, with 1.5-litre petrol power and 1.6 diesels in higher-end versions.
