Europe’s largest independently-owned car retailer will provide vehicles to meet the needs of the teams and officials and will feature in on and off-course branding and at promotions throughout the country.

Additionally, they will be the only vehicle rental company that will be promoted by Solheim Cup travel partners, with special deals arranged for spectators and visitors to the event.

Arnold Clark will also be helping to promote golf at a grassroots level, providing a minibus for the Scottish junior teams for the next three years. This new sponsorship arrangement marks Arnold Clark Car & Van Rental’s continued commitment to women’s golf having sponsored the RICOH Women’s British open over the last three years from 2015.

“We are very proud to announce this association with one of the biggest events in golf,” David Cooper, Managing Director of Arnold Clark Finance, commented.

“The 2019 Solheim Cup has themes of innovation, equality and experience, which match up perfectly with our corporate ambitions and brand objectives, and we look forward to being part of this exciting journey with VisitScotland and IMG.”

Ross Hallett, IMG Tournament Director said: “We are delighted to welcome Arnold Clark as a partner for the 2019 Solheim Cup and believe their contribution, in terms of their excellent products and world-class service, will play a vital role in helping us realise our ambition of delivering the best Solheim Cup to date.”

The Solheim Cup is one of the highlights of the golfing calendar and sees teams from the Europe and the USA battle over a three-day match-play competition to lift the trophy. The tournament was founded in 1990 and is returning to Scotland for the first time since 2000, when Loch Lomond Golf Club played host.

The last event took place in August 2017 at Des Moines Country Club in Iowa, United States, with the home team retaining the Waterford Crystal prize by 16 ½ to 11 ½ points.

European Captain and VisitScotland Ambassador, Catriona Matthew (above), is focused on returning the trophy to Europe in 2019 on home soil and organisers are aiming to give the team added support by setting a new European attendance record.

The week will begin with the Ping Junior Solheim Cup. This under-18s event will enjoy greater prominence than ever before to ensure that this is the most family orientated Solheim Cup ever staged.

VisitScotland, on behalf of the Scottish Government, has stated the ambition to ensure the 2019 edition of the Solheim Cup in Perthshire will serve to both grow golf and leave a lasting legacy of increased participation in women’s sport.

Tickets, including family packages and special early bird discounts, are now available at Solheimcup2019.com for the 16th edition of the Solheim Cup at Gleneagles.
