New £40k Focus RS Heritage Edition 14 | 02 | 2018

FORD HAS CONFIRMED its Focus RS will go out of production in April this year. But before that, the Blue Oval badged carmaker has launched a new Heritage Edition. It’s available to order now from Scottish dealerships priced at £39,985. Just 50, all right-hand drive, will be built. (Related: Roadtest — Ford Focus RS)

In addition to being loaded with more power, each will be fired with extra equipment and have a unique 'Deep Orange' exterior colour. The cars are the last UK-bound Focus RS models before production stops in Saarlouis, Germany. (Related: Ford refreshes Ka+ and adds Active)

While it’s difficult to miss the striking orange paintwork, the Heritage Edition also stands out with its grey brake callipers tucked behind black alloys. There’s also contrasting black door mirrors and a black rear spoiler. Inside the cabin, each Heritage gets part-leather Recaro seats, a sunroof, a heated steering wheel and privacy glass.

The limited edition RS is also fitted with a Quaife limited-slip differential to the front axle of the all-wheel drive Focus, aimed at improving traction and control in hard cornering.

As if that wasn’t enough, the Heritage Edition also gets the dealer-fitted 'FPM375' Mountune upgrade, which boosts max power from 345bhp to 370bhp. And thanks to a recalibrated turbo and induction kit, torque is also up 30Nm to 510Nm.

Though the Heritage Edition is a not insignificant £7000 more expensive than a standard RS, buyers are likely to see a better resale value as a last-of-the-line model.
