Mini launches limited edition 1499 GT 11 | 10 | 2017
MINI HAS LAUNCHED a new limited edition version of the Mini hatch. Badged the 1499 GT, it’s available to order now at Scottish dealerships priced from £16,990. Only 1499 units will be built between November and February 2018, with first deliveries scheduled for next month. We expect the 1499 GT to sell out fast. (Related: New Mini dealership for Scotland)
Launched as a celebration of the classic 1275 GT that was introduced back in 1969, the 1499 GT is based on the standard Mini. It is though the first ‘modern’ Mini to receive the 1.5-litre Twin Power Turbo three-cylinder engine delivering 102bhp.
In addition, it benefits from new sports suspension, plus disk brakes and a six-speed manual gearbox. Mini says the 1499 GT will cover 0-60mph in 10.1secs.
Buyers get the choice of two colours, Pepper White or Midnight Black. In Midnight Black, the car gets distinctive gold 1499 GT side stripes. Pepper White models feature the same distinctive graphics, but in black.
Additional exterior features include the Mini John Cooper Works Sport Pack, featuring 17in Track Spoke alloys in Black, dark tinted windows and white indicator lenses. The styling pack includes distinctive JCW front and rear bumpers, side skirts, a split level spoiler and JCW door entry plates.
Interior features include JCW seats in Dinamica and leather and JCW badges, a JCW steering wheel in perforated leather with Chilli Red stitching and multi-function controls, cruise control, a Visual Boost radio with Mini Connected smartphone compatibility and Piano Black interior trim, along with Carbon Black interior details and an Anthracite headlining. There’s also cruise control and air conditioning.
And while the car costs £16,990, customers can acquire one through Mini Financial Services for £299 per month and a £299 customer deposit with one years’ inclusive comprehensive insurance.
