Latest CarStore opens this month 02 | 05 | 2017

SCOTLAND'S MOST INNOVATIVE car dealership group, Peter Vardy, will open its new CarStore in Dundee on May 13. The new facility, which has space to display 500 cars, sits in a prominent position on the Dunsinane Industrial Estate.

Replacing what was once one of Dundee's former major employers, the Valentines Card Factory, the new CarStore - which sits on an 8.5 acre brownfield site - includes a 70,000sq/ft indoor showroom. It will be Peter Vardy's 12th retail site in Scotland.

“Work on our state-of-the-art Dundee CarStore is well under way, and we can’t wait till May 13 to throw open our doors to the car-buying public of Dundee," chief executive Peter Vardy said.

“Providing the east coast of Scotland with a destination dealership of this scale and quality is something I have wanted to do for a while. I want the people of Dundee to be able to take their time in comfortable surroundings while they find the car of their dreams.”

Expectations are high for the new Dundee CarStore: the Glasgow supersite opened in 2014 and, in its first year of trading, sold over 3,500 vehicles and more than 4,000 in the second.

The Peter Vardy Group also operates Vauxhall dealerships in Aberdeen, Perth, Kirkcaldy, Edinburgh, Motherwell and Dalgety Bay and five prestige dealerships selling Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, BMW and MINI.

During 2015 it invested £6m in its Porsche Aberdeen dealership while a new Jaguar Land Rover showroom in the city is scheduled to open later this month.
