Micra gets new 1.0-litre engine 24 | 05 | 2017

NISSAN HAS COMPLETED the launch range of its all-new Micra with the arrival of the 1.0-litre 71PS entry-level model. The new engine variant is available to order now from Scottish dealers, starting from £11,995 in Visia grade. (Related: Scots Nissan dealer scores a winner)

While it’s the last of three launch engines to go on sale, Nissan predicts it will play a vital role in the Micra range, as it is expected to account for around 15% of UK sales. It goes up against established rivals, including the VW Polo, Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa.

The 2017 Micra range now has five trim levels, consisting of Visia, Visia+, Acenta, N-Connecta and Tekna models, with prices rising to £17,435.

Linked to a five-speed manual gearbox, the three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers of 61.4mpg at the pumps and emits 103g/km CO2 when running on 15in or 16in wheels.

The new 1.0-litre 71PS engine joins the 0.9-litre 90PS three-cylinder turbo petrol and the 1.5-litre 90PS four-cylinder diesel, which went on sale earlier this year.

The new Nissan Micra is longer, wider and lower than ever before, and has been designed specifically with the European market in mind.

In addition to its new, contemporary external look and premium feel, inside there’s a high-quality cabin which boasts two-tone soft-touch materials as standard across the range.

In terms of technology, the latest Micra includes Intelligent Lane Intervention, a safety system which gently corrects the Micra back on to the right path should it be required.

Also unique to Micra is the Bose Personal audio system, which features speakers built into the driver’s head rest for an immersive 360° sound experience.

As you’d expect, the new Micra is available with a wide range of personalisation options, allowing owners to modify the exterior and interior with premium components in a variety of stylish and contemporary colours.
