Merc launches new entry SLC 09 | 05 | 2017

MERCEDES HAS LAUNCHED a new entry-level version of its SLC coupe-cabrio. Powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 154bhp, and mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, the new SLC 180 is available to order now from £32,039 at Scottish dealerships. First deliveries are expected late summer.

In a bid to capture sales from the likes of the Mazda MX-5, Mercedes has launched the SLC 180 with an aggressive PCP plan of just £276 for 36 months. That’s boosted by the fact, while the customer deposit is £3999, the retailer deposit contribution is a whopping £6158.34.

The new model can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 7.9-seconds and tops out at 140mph. It emits a low 134g/km of CO2 and delivers up to 48.7mpg. And while the six-speed manual is standard, there’s also £1,600 optional 9G-Tronic automatic.

The SLC 180 AMG Line comes as standard with 18in alloys; Artico seats; Active Brake Assist; cruise control; air conditioning; sports suspension; and sports braking system.

The SLC Sport model line has also been discontinued to make the range even simpler, with AMG Line now the only option. The price of AMG Line trim has also been reduced by £500.
