2017 Jaguar XF Sportbrake 01 | 05 | 2017

JAGUAR'S NEW XF Sportbrake will go on-sale at Scottish dealerships in the summer. Pricing has yet to be confirmed, but it will carry a small premium over the saloon which currently starts at £32,300.

Set to go head-to-head with the likes of the Mercedes E-class and BMW 5 Series estates, the new Sportbrake is previewed here showing a full-length panoramic roof.

With an exterior design, which mirrors that of the saloon - apart, obviously, from it's more practical, extended body shape - the new estate boasts increased boot space and more headroom in the rear.

Built on the same aluminium architecture as the saloon, the XF Sportbrake will also share the same engines. That means the entry-level will be a 2.0-litre diesel, supplemented by both 3.0-litre V6 diesel and petrol units. The range will also include a 2.0-litre petrol, plus a new wave of Ingenium engines. Power ranges from 161bhp to 375bhp.

Standard across the range is rear-wheel drive, plus a six-speed manual gearbox. However, the most potent engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic; this will also be available as an option on other models.

Expect too to see Jaguar's four-wheel drive system, currently available in the saloon, to also appear on the Sportbrake. There will also be a new range-topping XF S Sportbrake.
