Scots Nissan dealer leads from the front 02 | 06 | 2017

FOR THE SEVENTH year in a row, Alex F Noble & Son Nissan led the way in the 15th running of the Edinburgh Marathon with its Nissan Navara clock car (pictured).

The Straiton-based family-owned and run Nissan dealership —  which this year celebrates its 85th anniversary — was again the official car partner for the Edinburgh Marathon Festival.

This year the festival attracted well over 30,000 entries from across the globe and across all events, and is now Scotland’s biggest running festival and the second largest marathon event in the UK.

The Noble vehicle package included three Nissan NP300 Navaras, one of which was used as the lead clock car, with the other two as general ‘work horses’.

In addition, the dealership provided six Nissan light commercial vehicles for transporting various items of equipment over the race weekend.

“2017 has been another incredible year for the Edinburgh Marathon Festival with record-breaking performances,” Antonia Ward, partnership director of organisers, GSi Events, said.

“We had more than 30,000 runners with tens of thousands of spectators from all over the world cheering them on, and most importantly, millions of pounds raised for good causes.

“Our transport requirement was again very demanding and we are so grateful once more to Alex F Noble & Son Nissan for their continued support. All the branded vehicles looked fantastic and really added to the professional look of the event.”

The company’s participation was also marked by David Noble, dealer principal at Alex F Noble & Son Nissan.

“Being involved in such a high profile event as the Edinburgh Marathon Festival, is very important to the dealership as part of our annual sponsorship programme,” he said, “and it’s pleasing to know all our vehicles acquitted themselves well over another very busy weekend.”
