Porsche reveals most powerful 911  12 | 06 | 2017

PORSCHE HAS REVEALED its most powerful 911 Turbo ever. The new 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series is limited to just 500 units worldwide, but is on-sale in Scotland today. The Price? A cool £186,916. which is a premium of £40,000 over the standard version of the flagship 911. (Related: New £5m Porsche Centre for Scotland)

So, what does your extra dosh buy you? Sure there’s a number of special design tweaks, but the most important extra is the fact the tuned twin-turbo 3.8-litre flat six delivers 599bhp; that’s 27bhp up on the ‘standard’ 911 Turbo S.

Interestingly, the Turbo S Exclusive Series is no quicker from standstill to 62mph than the regular car, nor does it have a higher maximum. That said, it’s no slouch: 0-62mph in 2.9secs and on to a top speed of 205mph.

Where the extra power makes its difference is over longer bursts of acceleration; 0-124mph takes 9.6s, shaving three-tenths of a second off the normal 911 Turbo S.

The car comes with Porsche Active Suspension Management, Dynamic Chassis Control and the Sport Chrono package — allowing drivers to tweak chassis and suspension settings on the fly — as standard.

As for the styling tweaks, which help the car stand out from the rest, the majority have been applied by hand at the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur in-house workshop.

There’s also a unique metallic gold paint finish (pictured) available, alongside a selection of other colours. Or you can have racing stripes, finished with a carbon weave effect, loop over the bonnet and roof.

Carbonfibre has been used for the bonnet, roof and side-skirts, while the rear of the car gets a unique new rear wing and new rear apron. The new 20in centre-locking wheels, painted black with gold detailing, are also standard.

Inside the cabin, Porsche’s Sport Seats Plus are standard, but in the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series they’re trimmed with two layers of perforated leather; the inside layer features gold stripes to create a colour scheme in tune with the car’s exterior detailing.

You also get contrasting golden yellow stitching, alongside a golden double-stripe effect in the Alcantara roof lining and copper thread woven into the carbon interior trim elements.

Finally, the door sills are finished in carbonfibre and get Exclusive Series lettering, while each car is fitted with a plate featuring the limited-edition number.
