New Mazda2 Tech Edition unveiled 05 | 06 | 2017

    MAZDA HAS UNVEILED a new Tech Edition of its refreshed Mazda2. which will go on-sale at Scottish dealerships in July. Only 750 examples will be built. (Related: Roadtest — Mazda2 1.5 90PS SE-L Nav)

    Based on the £14,695 1.5 SE-L Nav, Mazda says the Tech Edition offers enhanced standard equipment at a value price compared to its host model.

    As a result, the new model gets a set of new 16in alloys, plus a choice of four premium paint finishes, including Dynamic Blue Mica (pictured). In addition, it also gets climate control, automatic headlights, rear parking sensors, privacy glass, plus automatic windscreen wipers.

    That’s all in addition to the ‘standard’ spec of the SE-L Nav, which includes a 7in touchscreen colour infotainment system with built in satnav and Bluetooth.

    The Tech Edition is powered by a four-cylinder 1.5-litre 89bhp petrol engine which Mazda says will return

    62.8mpg at the pumps, hit 62mph from standstill in 9.4secs and carry on to a max of 114mph. All models get Mazda’s sweet five-speed manual.

    The Tech Edition starts at £14,995, which is just 300 quid more than the standard SE-L Nav it’s based on.
