Vauxhall Insignia GSi starts at £33,375 06 | 12 | 2017

VAUXHALL HAS CONFIRMED the pricing of its performance-based Insignia GSi. On-sale from Scottish dealerships in March, the GSi will start at £33,375 for the Grand Sport saloon.

This variant comes with a choice of 2.0-litre four-cylinder engines; a 257bhp turbocharged petrol, or a twin-turbo diesel which delivers 207bhp. The petrol hits 0-62mph in 6.9secs, and tops-out at 155mph.

Buyers who prefer more stowage space will have to find an extra £1,500 (£34,875) to buy the Sports Tourer estate model.

All models benefit from Vauxhall’s four-wheel-drive system, which features torque vectoring on the rear axle. The system is capable of accelerating each rear wheel individually to boost traction when cornering.

Four driving modes are available through the GSi’s FlexRide system, allowing damping, steering, gear change-up points and the car’s stability and traction systems to be configured according to a driver’s preference.

The Insignia GSi range has also been fitted with a unique suspension set-up — including specially developed shock absorbers and 10mm shorter springs — aimed at reducing bodyroll, plus Brembo brakes.

Exterior design features include chrome air intakes, front and rear GSi bumpers, side sills and a large GSi rear spoiler (Grand Sport only), as well as incorporating Vauxhall’s innovative IntelliLux LED matrix headlamps.

On the inside, the GSi features full-leather front sports seats, aluminium pedals, eight-inch colour information display with navigation, plus a Bose sound system and head-up display.
