BMW diesel trade-in scheme for Scots 11 | 08 | 2017
BMW HAS CONFIRMED details for a new EU wide diesel trade-in scheme. Called the Lower Emissions Allowance, it will be available at its Scottish dealers until the end of the year.
Having initially been rolled out in Germany, BMW UK is offering customers a £2000 subsidy to upgrade to a new Euro-6 compliant vehicle, and all new BMW and Mini cars with emissions under 130g/km.(Related: New Mini dealership for Scotland)
In addition, cars from BMW’s i range, plus the Mini Countryman PHEV are also available, with the discount in addition to the current government subsidy.
Qualification for the discount requires customers to trade-in any diesel-powered car from any brand, so long as it’s Euro-4 standard or older. The German car maker has pledged it will a fair, average price for customers’ trade-in vehicles.
“BMW offers the widest range of low emission vehicles of any manufacturer,” Graeme Grieve, CEO of BMW Group UK, said.
“We were the first premium marque to make a clear commitment to electric mobility and having a range of sustainable mobility options too.
“We know in the early phases that people still need some incentive to make the jump to fully electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles, and that is why we are delighted to announce this new allowance.
“For those who the alternative drivetrains do not suit their lifestyle we still offer allowance qualifying Euro-6 compliant petrol and diesel engine cars that are cleaner than ever.”
