2018 Honda Jazz gets sporty facelift 14 | 08 | 2017
HONDA HAS REVEALED its updated Jazz ahead of its official launch at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The supermini will go on-sale at Scottish dealerships in November, with first deliveries early in 2018. (Related: New Honda HR-V Black Edition)
The newly-facelifted Jazz gets subtle styling tweaks both inside and outside, and benefits from a new 128bhp 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine aimed at giving the car a more ‘sporty’ edge. (Related: Honda ace Shedden bags Knockhill BTCC podium)
The front of the 2018 Jazz gets a revised front grille which extends to incorporate headlights with new lighting signatures. These sit above a new front apron with more aggressive contours.
At the back of the Jazz, the grilles in the rear bumper of the previous generation have shrunk. There’s now a new revised lower section, complete with a new gloss black strip linking the grilles.
There’s also a new sporty trim level. Badged ‘Dynamic’, this model benefits from LED headlights, new side skirts, front fog lamps, a hatch lid spoiler, a front splitter and rear diffuser finished with contrasting red accents, and gloss black 16in alloys.
While the rest of the range continues with the same cabin as previously, the new dynamic gets a leather trimmed steering wheel and gear knob, plus unique orange pinstripe detailing on the seats, and contrasting orange stitching dotted around the cabin.
The Dynamic is also the only model in the new Jazz range to get the 128bhp 1.5-litre engine, which will be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. A CVT automatic will be available as an option. Honda has yet to confirm performance figures.
The Japanese car maker does though claim the new engine will return 52.3mpg at the pumps, with 124g/km CO2 emissions when fitted with the CVT transmission.
The rest of the Jazz range sticks with the tried-and-tested 1.3-litre, 101bhp unit with a five-speed gearbox as standard.
