Official 2017 Discovery images leaked 28 | 09 | 2016
LAND ROVER’S NEW DISCOVERY has been leaked after images of the all-new car were accidentally published on the company’s Australian site. The pix appeared hours before it’s officially unveiled in Paris at 7.30pm today.
The images, which clearly form part of a new Discovery brochure, show the car tackling dunes and desert tracks. More significantly, it reveals the uncovered exterior.
What’s clear is the newcomer boasts new LED daylight running lights, as well as rear LED units. They also reveal a clear view for the first time of the new Discovery's design with the asymmetrical tailgate and the imposing stance.
The rear number plate is also off-centre, continuing a design brief that has now carried through since the original Discovery. The new car’s overall looks clearly sport styling details first seen on the Discovery Sport and Evoque.
The fifth-generation Land Rover Discovery is a larger SUV with 7-seater layout and could be powered by Land Rover's 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel unit, also expected is the 3.0-litre V6 in both petrol and diesel guise.
Land Rover has already confirmed the new Discovery — built upon the Range Rover’s aluminium monocoque, making it considerably lighter than its 2622kg predecessor — will feature up to nine USB ports and secure storage space to hide your iPads.
Also seen is the innovative ‘Intelligent Seat Technology' system that can be operated to fold down the seats remotely from a smartphone app.
