New flagship for Taggarts 26 | 10 | 2016

TAGGARTS IS POISED to move to new state-of-the-art facilities for Jaguar and Volvo after parent company Lookers plc confirmed a multi-million-pound investment package for its Scottish operation.

The company has acquired a 4.8-acre site at Hillington Park, Glasgow, to create new flagship Jaguar and Volvo showrooms on a key city gateway location close to the M8.

According to Lookers, the investment represents “a real vote of confidence in Glasgow and in the Jaguar and Volvo brands which are among the fastest-growing retail brands in the world”.

With planning permission now secured, construction is earmarked to get under way before the end of this year before a grand opening in mid-2017. The new expansion will create up to 100 jobs.

The dealerships will be managed and operated by Lookers’ Taggarts Motor Group division in Scotland.

“To demonstrate our commitment to leadership and excellence in the market, these new, state-of-the-art facilities will showcase the Jaguar and Volvo brands in stunning, spacious surroundings designed to transform the customer experience.”

The new Jaguar ultra-modern dealerships will include comfortable lounge-style waiting areas with free wi-fi, alongside drive-in covered service departments.

The Jaguar retailer will also incorporate the introduction of the standout ‘ARCH’ retail concept design which is based on exceptional architectural innovation and which will set the iconic building apart in the area.

Designed around Volvo’s new corporate identity, the new ultra-modern facility has been designed to ensure customers feel totally relaxed and at ease in an environment that informs and provides flexible waiting, working and assessment areas.
