BMW i8 gets new colour blast 24 | 05 | 2016

BMW UK IS NOW offering a new, vibrant range of exterior paint finishes for its hybrid-coupe, i8 model. The new colours — available as a £5495 option from all i Agent BMW dealerships — include Java Green, Speed Yellow, Solar Orange, Twilight Purple Pearl, Frozen Grey, Frozen Black, San Marino Blue and Grigio Telesto Pearl.

There’a also a new variety of finishes available, including non-metallic, metallic or Xirallic, which uses a mixture of synthetic mica or aluminium flakes to produce scintillating effects.

The new BMW Individual paint programme for the BMW i8 follows the success of the early orders for the Protonic Red limited edition and is bespoke to the UK.

“The BMW i8 embodies the accomplished vision of a modern and sustainable sports car,” Richard Hudson, sales director for BMW UK, said. “The new paintwork colours not only complement the BMW i8s emotive styling and design, they also work harmoniously with the BMW i brand and provide customers with exclusive personalised options.”

Since the car was launched in 2014, more than 1400 i8s — which delivers 357bhp and can cover up to 23 miles in electric only mode, claiming CO2 emissions of just 49g/km and a combined consumption figure of 134.5mpg — have been sold.
