New Tiguan to spawn larger family 08 | 02 | 2016
THE LATEST GENERATION Volkswagen Tiguan (pictured) will spawn a family of new models, including a new long-wheelbase model with up to seven seats due in 2017. The following year, the 'standard' Tiguan and seven-seater variant will be joined by a style-led coupé.
The new Tigaun — which is scheduled to enter Scottish showrooms in May — will share its 2681mm wheelbase with the coupĂ©. The longer wheelbases seven-seater will sit on a 2791mm platform.
All three new Tiguan models are based on VW’s MQB A2 platform and will come with the choice of either front or four-wheel drive.
Frustratingly, at the moment there are no plans to bring the LWB version — which will be built in China and Mexico— to the UK.
