Passat Bluemotion hits 76.3mpg 21 | 05 | 2015

VOLKSWAGEN'S NEW PASSAT Bluemotion will return 76.3mpg. The new model, on sale now in Germany ahead of its UK launch, is available as both estate and saloon models.

Both are powered by a 118bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine that’s connected to a six-speed manual gearbox, and CO2 emissions have been limited to 95g/km.

All Passat Bluemotion models get 16in alloys, a radiator grille designed to improve the cars’ aerodynamics and a radiator shutter, all of which boost fuel efficiency.

Prices have yet to be confirmed for the UK models, but VW will open its order books for the Passat Bluemotion at the start of June.
