Evoque cabrio confirmed  03 | 03 | 2015

LAND ROVER HAS confirmed one of the worst kept secrets: it will launch a convertible version of the Range Rover Evoque next year.

Tested in private through the tunnels of the Crossrail project currently being constructed beneath London, Land Rover has now released a video of the car, which is fitted with a folding fabric roof.

First shown as a concept in 2012, the cabrio will be built alongside the five-door and coupĂ© variants at Land Rover’s Halewood plant, where it will join the line-up of the recently facelifted Evoque.

It will be interesting to see how the loss of the Evoque’s metal roof will affect issues with body rigidity and handling, and also the Evoque’s off-road capabilities.

New LED headlight designs and a refreshed engine line-up, including four-cylinder diesel units from Jaguar Land Rover’s Ingenium range, are all fitted to the facelifted Evoque range.
