Teaser image of new Clubman 17 | 06 | 2015

THIS IS OUR first official glimpse of the biggest Mini ever: the all-new Clubman. This official teaser image gives us an indication of how the car, which will officially debut in Frankfurt in September, will look.

Already previewed in concept form in Geneva last year, the new Mini Clubman is expected to be longer than the model it replaces, and more versatile.

Based on the latest five-door Mini hatch, the Clubman will — unlike its controversial predecessor — revert to front-hinged rear doors, and keep the split rear cargo doors from the outgoing model.

This dark and moody teaser sketch — revealed on a promo page for Mini's "Go With Your Gut" campaign — gives an indication of the new car's different roof design from the show car which appeared at Geneva.

The new car will be just over 4.2m long – that's 26cm longer than the current Clubman – which will make it the biggest Mini yet. Significantly, it’s also believed to be 161mm wider and 24mm taller.

Sharing the same range of three- and four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines as the three-door Mini, the new Clubman is also expected to become available with all-wheel drive, although not from launch. A plug-in hybrid version with a three-cylinder engine is also like to appear later in the Clubman’s life.

Naturally Mini hasn't given any indication of pricing for the new Clubman, but it's fair to expect it to start around £17,500.
