First image of facelifted Yaris 22 | 04 | 2014

THIS IS THE first official image of the revised Toyota Yaris, which is scheduled to enter Scottish showrooms in the summer.

Following a number of the design themes set out by the new radically restyled Aygo, the new Yaris promises improved dynamics. Toyota says the new model has also been modified for improved ride and handling.

The Japanese manufacturer has also stated the current engine line-up — 1.0-, 1.33-litre petrol, 1.4-litre diesel and hybrid — will remain unchanged.

It's noticeable that the Yaris uses a less pronounced iteration of the black cross shown on the nose of the Aygo. The newcomer also ingrates an LED rear light units and a diffuser into the rear bumper.

Though no images of the car's interior have been released, it's understood the cabin has been improved, most noticeably in quality, space and equipment.

Full details of the new Yaris' spec and pricing will be released closer to the car's launch.
