Disco Vision Concept leaked 14 | 04 | 2014

LEAKED IMAGES WHICH have appeared on the web profess to illustrate the new Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept ahead of its official unveiling at the New York Motor Show.

The consensus from people who have seen the image is that it's … rather disappointing. Land Rover bosses have said the Discovery Vision Concept is a “bold new concept that will showcase the company's design vision for a new family of Discovery vehicles”.

The reality — based on what we can see in the image — is a rather strange concoction of an SUV which appears to be an unsuccessful merging of the Range Rover Evoque and the Ford Explorer.

Gone are the hard lines and taunt surfaces of the Discovery 4, to be replaced with an a series of overly-rounded edges.

Rearward from the slender grille and sweptback headlights, the concept looks like a Range Rover, but its identity crisis starts when you travel back from the rear pillars.

The first new-generation of Land Rovers to get the new-look treatment will be the Freelander replacement.

Let's hope this 'concept' is nothing more than a vehicle to generate interest and feedback for Land Rover from the public.
