New C-Max from £16,745 06 | 09 | 2010

WHEN FORD'S new C-Max enters Scottish showrooms next month, the entry-level 1.6-litre petrol-engined Zetec will be priced at £16,745. Producing 104bhp, the car will have alloys, air-con, leather steering wheel, DAB radio system and Bluetooth and USB connectivity fitted as standard.

In addition to the entry model, there will be a 123bhp 1.6 and an all-new four-cylinder 148bhp 1.6 Ecoboost engine mated to a new six-speed manual gearbox costing from £19,745 in Titanium trim. The better-specced model adds climate control, keyless start, cruise control a premium Sony audio system and automatic front headlights and wipers over Zetec models.

For lovers of oilburners, two diesel engines will be available from launch; the 113bhp 1.6 and a 138bhp 2.0, the latter is also available with Ford’s six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

With the exception of the entry-level 104bhp 1.6 petrol unit, all of the engines available in the C-Max are available in its larger sister model, the Grand C-Max. Prices for the larger model start at £18,745 for the 123bhp 1.6 petrol Zetec.
