Nissan recalls 2.1m cars 28 | 10 | 2010

NISSAS HAS become the latest manufacturer to make a global recall. The Japanese manufacturer has recalled 2.1 million cars across the world due to an ignition problem which can lead to the engine to stall while running.

The impact in the UK will affect 83,777 owners: 83,746 Micras built between January 29, 2004 and June 28, 2006, and 31 Pathfinders.

Owners affected will be contacted by Nissan to arrange free repair work; it will take no longer than 30 minutes to fix the problem. If you have any questions or would like further information, you should call Nissan Customer Services: 01923 899334.

Globally, other models recalled include the Titan pickup, Tiida and the Infiniti QX56. The majority of cars affected are in Japan and North America.

Nissan said there had been no reports of accidents caused by the fault.
