SCOT ROSS WYLIE (pictured) will contest this year’s British Gt Championship in a Lamborghini. The 29-year-old from Thornhill near Dumfries will partner Lucky Khera in the championship, and will go head-to head with fellow Scot and defending British GT champ Sandy Mitchell. Wylie, supported by the MacConnal-Mason Gallery, returns to British GT for the first time since 2016. The Scot won the British GT4 title in 2014. Now he returns to pilot a Simon Green Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3.
The British GT programme will dovetail with Wylie’s appearances in the GT Cup where he drives a Ferrari prepared by SB Race Engineering. (Related: Britcar win for Scot Ross Wylie)
“I’m really excited to be competing in British GT again,” Wylie said. “It’s a great series and to be racing a Lambo, which will be a totally new challenge for me, is just amazing.
“We’d like to challenge for overall podiums but the new Silver-Am class is our primary focus this year. It gives us something to aim at while finding our feet in what is a very competitive series. (Related: Wylie gains full BRDC membership)
“The British GT programme neatly dovetails in with my GT Cup season. It’s not every day a driver gets to race Lamborghini and Ferrari sportscars; legendary, iconic Italian marques. 2021 will be very busy but so exciting.”
The nine-race series starts at Brands Hatch on May 22-23.
